How we verify clinics
Every clinic on Gerovia was checked by a person before it went up. Here is exactly what that means, so you can judge how much weight to give it.
What we check
The clinic exists and is trading. We find a live website that the clinic itself controls. A social media page on its own is not enough, and neither is an entry in another directory. If we cannot reach a working site, the clinic does not go on.
It actually offers the treatment. We read the clinic's own service pages and record only the treatments it says it provides. We do not infer that a clinic offers hyperbaric oxygen because it offers cryotherapy, and we do not copy treatment lists from other directories, which is how errors spread across the whole web.
The location is real and specific, taken from the clinic's own contact details.
Prices, where the clinic publishes them. We record the range the clinic states publicly. We never estimate, and we never fill a gap with a number from a different clinic. Where a clinic does not publish prices, the listing says so rather than guessing.
What we do not do
We do not visit clinics. We do not inspect premises, equipment or hygiene.
We do not verify medical credentials, registrations, insurance or qualifications of the staff. If that matters to you, and for a medical treatment it should, check the relevant register yourself. The Medical Council and CORU both publish searchable registers.
We do not endorse anyone. Appearing on Gerovia means a clinic exists and offers the treatment. It is not a recommendation, a quality rating or a safety guarantee.
We do not rank clinics by quality, because we have no defensible basis to. Listings are ordered by location and treatment, not by merit.
Reviews
Provider pages link to the clinic's Google reviews, which are written by members of the public and are their opinions rather than ours. We do not write them, ask for them, pay for them, edit them or remove them, and we do not calculate our own rating from them. Google does not verify reviews, though it removes content it identifies as fake.
We show them because your judgement of a clinic should include the people who actually went there, alongside what the clinic says about itself and what we say about the research.
Keeping it accurate
Clinics close, move, change prices and drop treatments. A directory that is never rechecked is quietly wrong within a year. Listings are rechecked on a rolling basis.
If you are a clinic and something in your listing is wrong, or you want it removed, email hello@gerovia.com and we will fix or delete it. No conditions attached, and you do not have to link to us or do anything in return. If you are a visitor and you find a listing that is out of date, tell us the same way.
What to check yourself before you book
Our verification gets you a real clinic that offers the treatment. It does not get you a good clinic.
Check the practitioner on the relevant professional register. Ask what the treatment involves, at what dose or pressure or duration, and how many sessions. Ask what screening happens first, because for most of these treatments there are people who should not have them. Ask what the total cost is, including any follow-up.
Be careful with anyone promising to cure a serious condition or reverse ageing. That is where the evidence has run out and the marketing has taken over.
