How Gerovia makes money, and what that does not buy
Gerovia is free to use and free to be listed on. No clinic has ever paid to appear on this site. Every provider is here because it exists, operates in Ireland or Northern Ireland, and offers one of the treatments we cover. Clinics are added because we found them, not because they approached us or paid us.
That may not be true forever. If Gerovia introduces paid placement, sponsored listings or advertising at some point, three things will happen before it goes live. It will be stated on this page. It will be labelled clearly on the listing itself, so you can see at a glance which entries are paid and which are not. And it will change nothing about the rest of this section.
What is not for sale, now or later
Nobody can pay to change what a treatment page says. Our summaries of the research are written from the papers. A clinic that dislikes what the evidence shows about a treatment it sells can email us, and if it can point to a study we have misread we will correct it and say so. It cannot buy a different conclusion.
Nobody can pay to have a bad result removed. If the strongest trial of a treatment found no effect, that appears on the page, whether or not the clinics offering that treatment are advertisers.
Nobody can pay to be removed for the wrong reason. Any clinic can ask to be delisted and we will do it, no questions asked. But a clinic cannot have a rival delisted, and cannot have a listing pulled because it does not like sitting next to an honest evidence summary.
We take no commission on bookings and no referral fees. We do not sell treatments, supplements or tests, and we have no financial interest in any clinic listed here.
Where our information comes from
Provider details come from each clinic's own live website, checked individually. Research summaries come from the primary literature, which we read directly rather than through a press release or another article. Every claim carries a citation so you can check it yourself.
Reviews shown on provider pages come from Google and are the opinions of the people who wrote them, not of Gerovia. We do not write, solicit, edit, filter or moderate them, and we do not produce our own ratings.
When we get it wrong
We will get things wrong. When we do we correct the page, note what changed, and date it, rather than quietly editing and moving on. Where a correction is significant we say what changed rather than silently swapping the text, because a site that edits its history is not one you can check.
If you think a page here is wrong, email hello@gerovia.com with the page and the problem.
What this site is not
Gerovia is information, not medical advice. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a treatment recommendation, or a substitute for a consultation with a qualified clinician. Our content is written and researched by a founder who is not a medical professional, and it is not reviewed by a clinician. We say so on every article rather than leaving you to guess.
Several treatments covered on this site are not authorised medicines in Ireland, are not available on the public health system, and have limited or no evidence behind them for the uses they are marketed for. We try to say clearly which is which. Talk to your GP before starting any of them.
